Huawei has confirmed the launch of its upcoming Mate 30 and the foldable Mate X handsets.

The 5G version of the Huawei Mate 30 will launch in December.

The foldable Mate X is set to be announced in September.

Things have been slightly uncertain for the Chinese smartphone and telecom equipment maker Huawei ever since it was put on the US Entity List. The company can no longer use Android on its yet to be registered phones and is currently serving a 90 day grace period to deliver updates and patches to its existing handsets. However, it seems to be positive about the current situation getting better as it has confirmed the timeline for the launch of its upcoming handsets. In a 5G conference in Russia, Huawei confirmed that it will launch the 5G variant of its upcoming Huawei Mate 30 handset in December.

It’s now confirmed and hardly surprising that there’s a 5G version of the Huawei Mate 30. However, the timeline company has shared is most likely to apply for the Russia launch of the handset. If Huawei sticks to its usual timeline, we can expect the standard Huawei Mate 30 to launch sometime in November. In addition to the possible launch month of the Huawei Mate 30, the smartphone manufacturer has also announced that its foldable Mate X handset will be launched in September. It seems like the company is taking its time to bring its first foldable phone to the market and we can’t blame them after what happened with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold.

Speaking of the Huawei Mate 30, there are some rumours about the handset making the rounds of the internet. The upcoming handset’s design was recently leaked in a concept render, and a media report suggested that its display might have a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the Pro version of the phone was spotted on TENAA in 6GB and 12GB RAM variants. Renders of the phone hint at a rounded rectangle camera module that houses four sensors and an LED flash. While the specifics are yet to be revealed, the handset’s camera is said to support  5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom, similar to the P30 Pro.
