Huawei Glory, Huawei’s first venture in high-end Android smartphone segment, is unlikely to come to India, say media reports. Huawei, which recently launched Ideos series of smartphones in India, will be launching Glory in the US market later this year. A Mobile Indian report quotes a Huawei official as saying that Huawei Glory will be launched in the US in November and that the device is not going to be available in the Indian market.
Glory has 1.4GHz dual core processor with Adreno 205 GPU for graphics, part of the MSM8655T Snapdragon chipset. The device has a 854 x 480 pixel TFT display, and an 8 megapixel AF camera with LED flash. The phone has a 1900 mAh battery. It also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. The phone has 2 GB of storage with expandable memory.

Glory, surprisingly, does not have HDMI slot. However, the company says the phone will have a “surprise” multimedia solution that will cover up the absence of HDMI. Reports say Glory will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Reports of Huawei Glory not being available in India have surprised many as the company has previously stressed on tapping what it calls “one of the most important markets” in Asia Pacific. Huawei recently launched its Ideos series namely Ideos U8150, X5 and X6. The Huawei Android 2.2 based devices have been often pitted against other low-cost Android sets in India. It would have been really interesting to see Huawei competing with other major players in Android segment in India. China-based Huawei is primarily known as a multinational networking and telecommunications equipment company.
