Rumours are spreading like wildfire that hint that Huawei is working on a flagship smartphone aimed at giving the Galaxy S4 a run for its money.
If information circulating the internet is to be believed, the new smartphone from Huawei will have 4.9-inch display with a 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, a 1.8 GHz K3V3 quad-core ARM Cortex A15 based CPU, Mali T604 GPU along with 2GB of RAM will power the smartphone. The rear of the smartphone is also speculated to have a 13MP camera. A 2600mAh battery will power the entire package. The smartphone is expected to be 6.8mm thin.
The smartphone is expected to ship in April which seems right considering the Galaxy S4 is also expected to hit store shelves around the same time. No pricing information is available about the Huawei smartphone.
If the device is true, what remains to be seen is how Huawei prices the smartphone. If the price is considerably less that the S4 and the specifications up to par, Samsung might have a budget contender on their hands. Not to mention that Huawei has started making a name for itself in markets outside China.
