Huawei Ascend P8 likely to be announced on April 15

Huawei's flagship for 2015 is set to be announced on April 15 at an event in London. The phone is expected to come with improved battery, display and camera features.

Huawei has scheduled an April 15 event where the company is expected to reveal its latest smartphone, Ascend P8. The invitation sent out to media doesn't reveal much about the announcement, but simply says – “it's coming”. Though previous teasers have hinted at an “8”.

The Ascend P8 has been in rumours for a very long time. The smartphone, also likely to be the next Huawei flagship, is expected to come with better display, camera and battery life. Summing up some of the recent rumours, the P8 is likely to feature a 5.2-inch full HD display, a unibody design, dual rear 13MP cameras, 3GB of RAM and 2600 mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to run Android Lollipop out of the box and powered by Huawei's  Kirin 930 SoC.

The P8 is successor to the current flagship P7. The smartphone had launched in India in December last year. Priced at Rs. 24,799, the Ascend P7 boasts of a 5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs  Android OS 4.4.2 software customised with Huawei’s patented Emotion UI 2.3 and is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core processor along with 2 GB of RAM.
