HTC One X may take its last mighty swig with the Android 4.2 update
HIGHLIGHTS

No official announcement from the company, but known HTC tipster had mentioned on Twitter that the One X will not get the Key Lime Pie update. We would recommend holding on, and not smashing that phone into the nearest wall.

This morning could be pencilled down as day 1 when you fell out of love with your HTC One X. Or maybe not. It seems that the One X, and indeed the One X , will see their last major update arriving with Android 4.2.2 sometime this summer. The chances of HTC sending an Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) update are fairly slim, supposedly, as the post by developer and HTC tipster @LLabTooFeR on Twitter seems to suggest. However, let us specify again that HTC has not released any official statement regarding this possibility, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

The tweet reads “No ETAs at the moment…4.2.2 will be last update for One X”.

HTC has already officially said that the HTC One X will get the Android 4.2.2 update sometime in June this year, and the roll out will vary according to region and operators. The biggest news is that this update will also bring in the new Sense version with BlinkFeed. The One X was launched with Android 4.0.3 and later got the Android 4.1 update sometime later. But, we would not recommend you throw the phone at the wall in anger, because the company has not officially communicated anything regarding the update, or the lack of it. And since rumors are the in thing these days, anyone can say anything and get away with it.
