HTC One M9+ with 5.2-inch display, MediaTek SoC debuts in China
The new variant of the One M9 features a 2.2GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and HTC Sense 7.
HTC has announced a new variant of the flagship One M9. Called the HTC One M9+, the new smartphone packs 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6795T chipset with an octa-core CPU and 3GB RAM. It runs Android Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 on top of it.
The HTC One M9, announced in China, has a 5.2-inch QHD display. The smartphone sports 20MP rear camera with f/2.2 and secondary lens on the top for depth-sensing. There's a UltraPixel front facing camera. It comes with 32GB internal storage. It is powered by a 2840 mAh battery.
Other important features of the M9+ include BoomSound speakers with Dolby surround sound and fingerprint sensor. So far there's no word on availability of the smartphone outside China, but we expect it launch soon.
Launch of the M9 comes shortly after the company launched a new version of its last year's flagship One M8. Called the One M8s, the smartphone features 13MP rear dual camera and a 5MP front facing camera. The One M8s also includes 5-inch HD display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2 GB RAM and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The 2015 flagship, HTC One M9, was announced at the MWC this year. The flagship comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 5-inch IPS LCD3 display and 20MP rear camera.
