HIGHLIGHTS

The newly launched One M9 Prime Camera Edition is almost exactly the same phone that the company launched a few days back as the One S9.

It seems that HTC is refusing to let go of the 'One M9' moniker. The Taiwanese company has launched the One M9 Prime Camera Edition in European markets. The smartphone has been initially launched in Poland, and is likely to be made available in other European countries, soon. The device is currently being offered by Poland’s Play carrier, for a PLN1 (Rs. 18 approximately) down payment and for a contract of PLN 99.99 (Rs. 1,700 approximately) per month, for 24 months.

This new camera edition of the One M9 features a 13MP rear camera. It has an f/2.0 aperture lens, and is aided with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). However, the device does not feature laser-assisted autofocus. The phone is using an 4MP UltraPixel camera at the front, just like its other variants. Both the cameras can record 1080p Full HD video at 30fps.

The design and build of the phone remains the same as last year’s HTC flagship, the One M9. However, the newly launched Prime Camera Edition uses the Helio X10, instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. The 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 SoC was earlier seen on the HTC One M9 Plus, which was launched in India in 2015. The device sports a 5-inch 1080p display, and there is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, further expandable using a microSD card. The 2840mAh battery is sealed, like all previous M9 phones.

HTC recently launched the One S9 as well, which features a similar specification sheet, build and design.
