HIGHLIGHTS

The HTC One, which was expected to launch in March, has reportedly been delayed due to issues faced with the supply of components.

Reports on the Internet suggest that the availability of the HTC One has been delayed. An unnamed source has told the Wall Street Journal that a shortage of the HTC One’s components, such as the metal casings and camera parts, has pushed back the availability of the smartphone. The HTC One was originally supposed to be available to consumers towards the end of March. There is no confirmation on when the smartphone will now be made available.

The One is HTC’s flagship smartphone, expected to take on Samsung’s Galaxy S4. The HTC One would have had a first mover’s advantage if the smartphone launched towards the end of March as the S4 is expected to hit store shelves sometime in April. In terms of its specifications, the One is powered by the quad-core Krait 300 processor clocking in at 1.7GHz on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, with Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB of RAM to help it along. The One has a 4.7-inch Super LCD 3 display.

The HTC One’s ‘Ultrapixel’ camera has a 4MP sensor and can do 1080p@30fps video recording, apart from HDR. The sensor apparently allows 300% more light in, enabling better shots in low light conditions. The camera also features gyroscope-based optical image stabilization, for blur free images and videos, particularly ones shot on not very stable ground or on the move. The smartphones comes in 32GB or 64GB storage variants.

For those of you that are confused about the concept of the Ultrapixel, here is a detailed explanation about the camera on the HTC One. After the launch we have analyzed the features the smartphone brings to the table and have listed some of the hits and misses with the features of the One.
