HTC One could be getting Android 4.2.2 update in a few weeks
After production issues seem to have been sorted, this could be the second boost for the HTC One, as it attempts putting on a proper show.
It seems that the HTC One is set to get the Android 4.2.2 update very soon. This is according to HTC leakster and developer @LlabTooFeR, who is pretty clued in when it comes to HTC updates.
After all the production delays and the issues that plagued the phone since launch, this is the second piece of good news, after HTC confirmed that One’s production will now be doubled in May, when compared to earlier months. However, this update timeline has been communicated on Twitter by someone supposedly close to the development, and not by HTC themselves.
Additionally, HTC has been under pressure to update the One, which comes with Android 4.1.2 out of the box. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S4 was preloaded with Android 4.2.2 straightaway.
Android 4.2 isn’t a massive upgrade over Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but comes with certain new features including lock screen widgets, stock gesture-enhanced keyboard, Quick Settings in notifications, but isn’t something which is a significant improvement, something like Android 4.1 was over the version it replaced.
