HIGHLIGHTS

HTC's on a roll lately, announcing phones left right and center. After the HTC One and HTC First, the Taiwanese company has launched the Desire Q.

HTC has recently unveiled the Desire P, a mid-range smartphone for the masses and today, it have announced the Desire Q, an entry level smartphone with specifications similar to the Desire U.

The Desire Q will feature a 4-inch screen with an 800×480 pixel resolution, while it will be powered by a 1GHz single-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It will also sport a 5 megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, but will ditch a front facing camera, possibly to cut down costs. However, being an HTC phone, Beats Audio will be present on the phone, along with a bunch of other connectivity options (HSPA/WCDMA/GPS/Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/microUSB/3.5mm audio jack/Bluetooth 4.0).

The HTC Desire Q will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS while relying on a 1660mAh battery to keep the device running through a day’s worth of usage. It comes with 4GB of built-in storage, expandable via a microSD card.

Interestingly, HTC has only announced the Desire Q to be available in Taiwan as of now, with no word on when it would hit the global markets, if at all. However if you’re in Taiwan and would want to pick one up for a relative, then the phone will cost you roughly US$234 (NT$6,990). The phone is already available in Taiwan.
