The HTC Desire 826 Dual-SIM runs on an octa-core processor and has a 13MP primary camera along with a 5MP Ultrapixel front camera.

HTC has launched the Desire 826 dual-SIM smartphone in India for Rs. 26,990. It has a 5.5 inch Full-HD display, and is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.

The Desire 826 has a 13MP primary camera, but the front camera is where things get interesting. It has a 5MP Ultrapixel Camera. Ultrapixels basically mean that each pixel is much more larger than normal, allowing more light to get in, and so it theoretically results in better low light performance.

HTC’s previous phones had Ultrapixels on the back, and despite their great low-light performance, they didn’t really catch on due to their comparatively low megapixel count. However, front cameras generally have lower megapixel counts than the primary cameras, and this is where an Ultrapixel camera should be.

The Desire 826 features HTC’s dual-facing Boomsound Speakers, and audio is supposedly enhanced with Dolby technology. The Desire 826 runs Lollipop with HTC’s Sense overlay. It is available in various colors, including White Birch, Blue Lagoon and Purple Fire. The phone will reach all major retailers by the end of the month.

HTC already has been facing trouble with retailers due to its poor customer service, and now it is offering sub-15K specs in a 27K phone.
