Updated on 04-Oct-2011

HTC Desire S initially was launched with an Android version 2.3.3 Gingerbread and the HTC Sense UI 2.1 out of the box. After a long wait and much anticipation, HTC has now introduced an overdue update for it – Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0 UI. Over its predecessor the Desire S did get minor hardware upgrades, which majorly included better GPU, larger amount of RAM and ROM, and faster connectivity.

The update has been noticed amongst users in the UK, who have been getting notifications as pop ups about it, since the lingering last days of September.

This update should boost up the performance of your Desire S, bringing key updates like the new animations, interactive lock screen, an updated launcher as well as a host of new widgets, will be present. The latest version of the market will be also be updated along with the access to HTC’s Watch Service. Users have also reported getting GPS performance.

Just like always with a ROM update, users will be getting the notifications as a pop up and the update is for stock Desire S ROM users. So, this means the update is also carrier specific and as usual will take a little longer, depending upon your primary network zone. In the meanwhile, check out our review of the HTC Desire S.
