HTC has added another budget smartphone in its Desire range. The smartphone maker has made Desire 650 official in Taiwan, showing its renewed focus towards budget smartphone offerings.

HTC Desire 650, the entry level smartphone features the trademark dual finish back like all other Desire series smartphones. The top half is smooth while the bottom half has a ridge-shaped pattern. In fact, HTC has managed to make Desire 650 look like a rugged smartphone.

HTC Desire 650's USP here is the BoomSound audio and support for Hi-Res audio. Other specifications are more or less a standard affair. The Desire 650 sports a 5-inch 720p display which is not even IPS – its budget afterall. The smartphone houses a unspecified quad-core Snapdragon processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC's custom Sense UI.

As far as photography is concerned, HTC Desire 650 offers a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front camera for selfies. Both the cameras shoot full HD videos and support HDR.

HTC Desire 650 is 8.4mm thick and weighs 140 grams. The device supports NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi 802.11 bgn. The smartphone is supports LTE and packs a decent 2200mAh battery. HTC Desire 650 is listed on company's Taiwanese site but the price is not mentioned.
