HTC has just announced its new flagship One M8, and rumours over its next smartphone have already begun to float on the web. New round of rumours claim the company will soon join the octa-core SoC bandwagon with a ‘HTC Desire 616’ a.k.a 616w. According to rumours, the smartphone has already been approved by the Chinese authorities.
The HTC Desire 616 features a 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (expected to be upgraded to KitKat). It has a 5-inch 720p display, 8MP rear camera with LED flash.
The smartphone measures 142 x 71.9 x 9.1 mm and 150 grams. The phone doesn’t feature front-facing BoomSound speakers, like its bigger sibling the One (M8). The HTC Desire will be available in multi colour options black, blue, white, red and yellow.
So far there’s no word on pricing and availability of the Desire 616. With Chinese authorities approving the smartphone, we can expect it to be officially announced soon.
