HTC’s latest smartphone, Desire 500, is now up for pre-order in India via online retailer Snapdeal. The official price of the smartphone is yet to be announced, but users can book the smartphone with an advance payment of Rs. 999,
According to Snapdeal’s listing, the Desire 500 will be available in the first week of October. Other online retailers such as Flipkart and Saholic have listed the smartphone as coming soon.
HTC had launched the Desire 500 for Taiwan market in July this year. The smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.0 on top and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor along with 1GB RAM.
It has a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. The phone is 9.9mm in thickness and weighs a mere 123 grams. It supports 4GB built-in storage, expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. The rear of the smartphone has an 8MP camera and the front has a 1.6MP camera for video calling.
HTC had recently made the Desire 600c, the CDMA dual-SIM variant of the HTC Desire 600, available in the country. Priced at Rs. 28,900, the smartphone features 4.5-inch display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution, Jelly Bean with Sense UI, quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
