HTC Desire 200 budget Android smartphone leaks before official announcement

The HTC Desire 200 looks to be aimed at the budget segment as it is expected to feature a 3.5-inch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

HTC is set to expand its budget Android smartphone line-up with the ‘Desire 200’. The new entry-level HTC smartphone has already made its appearance before the official announcement.

HTC Desire 200’s earpiece section looks identical to the flagship HTC One while the controls below remind of traditional HTC Android phones. The rear of the smartphone is very reminiscent to the earlier Desire devices, especially the Desire C.

The smartphone is rumoured to come with a 3.5-inch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot for the additional storage and 1,400 mAh battery. The smartphone has been spotted running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, but is expected to launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onboard.

There’s no word on the exact pricing and release date of the smartphone.

HTC is gearing up for its June 19 where it is expected to unveil the Butterfly S and Desire 600. The Butterfly S is believed to be a minor upgrade from the original Butterfly and is likely to feature 5-inch 1080p display, microSD card slot, UltraPixel camera and a higher capacity battery.
