HTC Desire 12, Desire 12+ with HD+ 18:9 displays, dual camera setup launched in India
The HTC Desire 12 Plus features a dual rear camera, while the Desire 12 comes with a single main camera setup.
HTC has launched its recently announced HTC Desire 12 and the Desire 12 Plus smartphones in India. The two devices were initially unveiled in March this year and they are the company's first devices of 2018. Pre-bookings for the handsets will commence from June 7 via the company’s official India E-Store and they will be available in Cool Black and Warm Silver colour variants. The HTC Desire 12 is priced at Rs 15,800, whereas the HTC Desire 12 Plus will cost you Rs 19,790. Both the smartphones will be available for purchase starting June 11.
The device comes with an acrylic glass rear but only the HTC Desire 12 Plus gets a dual rear camera and a fingerprint scanner. The Desire 12 features a single primary camera and misses out on the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Coming to the specifications, the HTC Desire 12 features a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by the MediaTek MT6739 SoC. It comes in two variants, one with 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and another with 3GB RAM/32GB expandable storage but only the 3GB RAM model will be available in India. The 13MP single rear camera on the device comes with an LED flash, a f/2.2 aperture lens, PDAF support and more. There is also a 5MP sensor for selfies, which supports Face Unlock feature. The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 2730mAh battery and come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Micro-USB 2.0 port for charging.
HTC Desire 12 Plus is the larger of the two smartphones. It features a 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. The handset is equipped with a 13MP + 2MP dual-rear camera setup with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, Bokeh support and more. On the front is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. It is backed by a 2965mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
