Another smartphone has received a price cut. The HTC ChaCha, also touted as HTC’s Facebook phone, is now selling at Rs. 9,699 via online retailer Saholic. Other online retailers such as Flipkart and Letsbuy are selling the device at Rs. 12,499 and Rs. 11999 respectively.
HTC had launched the ChaCha in India in August last year with a price tag of Rs. 15,990. Speaking of specifications, the HTC ChaCha runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by an 800 MHz Processor. It has 512MB of RAM. The device has 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 320 resolution, 5MP primary camera and 0.3 MP secondary camera. It has a physical QWERTY keypad as well.
The main highlight of the ChaCha is the dedicated Facebook button, which is placed just below the keypad. The dedicated Facebook lets you share a photo or any content. If pressed longer, the button will direct user to Facebook Places function. Apart from the dedicated Facebook button, the Chacha comes with a range of Facebook widgets, such as Calendar widget, which lets you save birthdays of your friends.
Moreover, the device has GPS and Google Maps. For connectivity, the ChaCha supports Bluetooth, USB functionalities, Wi-Fi and 3G.
With the price cut, the HTC ChaCha will be competing against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos (Rs. 9,500) and Motorola Fire XT530 (Rs. 9,990). Meanwhile, check out the detailed review of the ChaCha here.
