HTC Butterfly running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.1 spotted online

HIGHLIGHTS

The recently launched HTC Butterfly has been spotted online running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS along with HTC's latest iteration of the Sense UI. Rumours suggest the update will be available to users this month.

HTC introduced us to the latest version of the Sense UI, version 5 with the HTC One. The new UI brought with it a feature called Blinkfeed. What this essentially did was put all your news feed and social networking feed in one place. The interface of Blinkfeed is a lot like Flipboard. The downside is that this feed can’t be disabled or turned off.

Leaks on the Internet suggest that an update is coming to the HTC Butterfly (internationally known as the HTC Droid, and Droid DNA), which will bring the smartphone up to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will also introduce the smartphone to the Sense 5.1 UI. The update to the HTC Butterfly brings with it the ability to switch off the BlinkFeed, a feature we have wanted ever since we have seen it on the HTC One. You can go back to the traditional home screen that houses the app shortcuts and widgets.

The Android 4.2.2 update will give users the ability to access quick shortcuts and notifications from the drop down menu. Stock Android takes users to the settings page where as the update on the HTC Butterfly gives you access to a bunch of settings from the notifications tab directly.

There is no confirmation available on when this update will hit the HTC Butterfly but information circulating the Internet suggests that it will happen as soon as this month. You can take a look at the HTC Butterfly running Android 4.2.2 along with Sense 5.1 UI below.
