Honor View 20 with 48MP camera, punch-hole design launched in India starting at Rs 37,999

After the global unveiling of its latest flagship smartphone, the Honor View 20, in Paris on January 22, Honor has launched the device today, in India. The new handset features a punch-hole display design and thanks to the design, there is no notch on the display. It also comes with a dual-rear camera setup and is the first phone in India to sport a 48MP main camera sensor and also the first one to come with a punch hole camera. The handset is also equipped with the ‘Link Turbo’ technology, which the company claims enables faster download speeds by leveraging both Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.

Honor View 20 Specifications and Features

The Honor View 20 runs on the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset, which is the company’s flagship chipset manufactured using a 7nm process. While the handset was announced in multiple variants in China, in India it comes in two variants, one with 6GB RAM, coupled with 128GB of internal storage, and another with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It also features GPU Turbo 2.0 technology, which the company claims can enhance the graphics and performance of its phones while gaming, while keeping power consumption low. The View 20 is also equipped with a liquid cooling system that is supposed to lower keep the CPU temperature in check.

Coming to the display, the Honor View 20 is equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ All-View display that has a 2310x1080p resolution. The display is almost bezel-less but it sports a punch hole that incorporates the selfie sensor. Huawei says that the circular cutout on the top-left corner is 4.5mm in diameter. There's a glass panel on the back that sports a V-shaped pattern, along with the fingerprint sensor.

In the camera department, the smartphone gets a dual-rear camera setup. One of the cameras here is a 48MP Sony IMX586 CMOS primary sensor, which is a 1/2 inch CMOS that uses 4-in-1 pixel-binning to give a 1.6-micron pixel. The second sensor is a Time-Of-Flight (TOF) 3D sensor that is employed for capturing depth. On the front, the punch-hole camera houses a 25MP sensor with an f /2.0 aperture lens. The Honor View 20 is powered by a 4000mAh battery that supports Super Charge at 5V, 4A and the company claims that charging the phone for 30 minutes will give you an entire day of usage.

The device runs on Android Pie 9.0 with Magic UI 2.0 on top and also uses a Dual-frequency GPS feature that is said to deliver higher location precision. The View 20 also comes with a PC Mode that will enable users to connect to their PC via USB or Wi-Fi. 

Honor Watch Magic and Honor Band 4 Running Edition

Honor has also announced its Watch Magic Band smartwatch at the event. The device features an HD AMOLED touchscreen display and is also water-resistant up to 50m. It features all-day real-time heart monitoring and is said to deliver 7 days of battery life on a single full charge. It will be available in Lava Black and Moonlight Silver colour models.

Coming to the Honor Band 4, the device was already available in India, in 2018. However, this is a new Running edition of the device that is water resistant up to 50 meters, comes with running posture monitoring and two wearing modes. It sports a POLED monochrome display and has a 77 mAh battery.

Honor View 20 Price

The Honor View 20 comes in two variants, one variant with 6GB RAM, coupled with 128GB of internal storage that is priced at Rs 37,999. The 8GB RAM/256GB storage version of the phone will cost Rs 45,999. It comes in Phantom Blue, Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue colour models and will be available for purchase via Amazon.in, hihonor.in at 12 PM from January 31. It can also be bought offline from Reliance Digital stores. There will be a five percent instant discount for those who purchase the phone on EMI using ICICI debit or credit card. 

The Honor Watch Magic is priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 14,999 for the Lava Black and Moonlight Silver colour models respectively. The Honor Band 4 running edition is priced at Rs 1,599.
