Honor View 10 with AI-capabilities, dual-camera coming to India on January 8
The phone features Huawei’s new Kirin 970 SoC and a 16MP + 20MP camera setup.
Alongside the Honor 7X, Honor also globally launched Honor View 10 (V10) smartphone. The device is priced at EUR 499 (approx. Rs 38,000). The device will come to India on January 8. Honor says the V stands for View and comes in slim, all metal build with 18:9 aspect ratio displays. The phone is just 6.97mm thick and carries a 3750mAh battery. The 5.99-inch display has a 2160 x 1080p resolution and is one of the first phones to offer a fingerprint scanner at the front with a tall display. It should be noted that the phone was launched in China last month.
The Honor V10 is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin 970 SoC, which was first used in the Huawei Mate 10. This new SoC has a NPU aka Neural Processing Unit for handling AI tasks. The octa-core SoC uses a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, which is the newer version of G71 GPU used on the Exynos 8895 SoC (used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8). The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with EMUI 8.0 layered on top.
As for the camera, the device features a 16MP + 20MP rear camera. Huawei claims that their new AI enabled EMUI combined with the Kirin 970 SoC enables the phone to take better images than its competitors. Honor also notes that the front facing 13MP camera also taps into the AI capabilities of the phone to take better images.
