Honor 9 Lite with quad cameras, 18:9 display, Android Oreo launched in China, expected in India soon
The smartphone features a 5.65-inch full-HD+ Univisium display and is powered the company’s Kirin 659 SoC.
Honor has launched it’s Honor 9 Lite smartphone in China. The smartphone was spotted in a TENNA listing earlier this month and true to rumours, the device comes with a quad camera setup with dual front and rear cameras. It is a variant of the Honor 9i and sports a similar taller Univisium display.
The Honor 9 Lite will be available in three configurations. It is priced at CNY 1,199 (Rs 11,700 approx) for the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variant and it also comes with 4GB RAM with 32GB/64GB storage options priced at CNY 1,499 (Rs 15,600 approx) and CNY 1,799 (Rs 17,500 approx) respectively. The device is up for registrations in China and will go up for sale starting December 26. It is expected that the latest Honor offering will be launched in India as well.
In terms of specifications, the Honor 9 Lite is powered by a 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Kirin 659 SoC coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The dual SIM device runs on EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3000 mAh battery. It comes with a rear placed fingerprint sensor.
Similar to the Honor 9i, the Honor 9 Lite sports a 13MP + 2MP dual front and rear camera setup. Both support 1080p video recording and the rear camera comes with an LED flash along with PDAF support. The smartphone features connectivity options like Bluetooth, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, and comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and Micro-USB for charging.
