Last month, the Honor 8X smartphone was seen listed on TENAA and later a screenshot of the phone was spotted circulating on Chinese microblogging website Weibo hinting a larger variant of the smartphone with a massive screen size. Resting all the speculation, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched two smartphones Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max in China. Both the smartphones are listed on China’s VMall.com. Out of the two smartphones, the Honor 8X is the smaller one and the 8X Max is the variant with one of the largest displays on a smartphones today. Both the smartphones feature glass back panels and have a dual rear camera setup.
The smaller of the two, the Honor 8X sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ TFT IPS notched display with 1080×2340 resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC and is offered in two 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The Honor 8X comes in 64GB and 128GB of expandable storage options. It runs on the EMUI 8.2.0 OS atop Android 8.1 Oreo.
In the camera department, the phone sports a dual camera setup with a LED flash on the back. The primary camera has a 20MP primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor. The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, there is a 16MP lens with a f/2.0 aperture. The phone packs a 3,750mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Those interested to buy the smartphone can pre-order it on September 6 and the shipping will start from September 11. The Honor 8X will be available at a starting price of Yuan 1,399 (approx Rs 14,700) for the 4GB/64GB model, Yuan 1,599 (approx Rs 16,800 ) for the 6GB/64GB model and Yuan 1,899 (approx Rs 20,000) for the 6GB/128GB variant.

The Honor 8X Max features a ‘Waterdrop’ notch on the massive 7.12-inch Full HD+ TFT IPS display with 1080×2244 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and is offered with 4GB RAM. Buyers can choose between two storage options: 64GB and 128GB – both expandable via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2.0 skin on top. On the back, the smartphone has a dual-camera setup – a 16MP primary lens with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP lens with f/2.0 aperture. The Honor 8X Max houses a massive 5,000mAh battery.
Just like the Honor 8X, the Honor 8X Max is available for pre-order in China. It will be available at a starting price of Yuan 1,499 (approx Rs 15,7000) for the 4GB/64GB variant and Yuan 1,799 (approx Rs 19,000) for the 4GB/128GB model. Reportedly, there is another model which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6GB RAM that will go on sale in October.
