Honor’s previous flagship smartphone, the Honor 8 Pro, is getting the Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 update in India. Screenshots posted on XDA Developers forum suggests that the update is about 2.81GB in size and brings with it a number of UI changes as well as new AI-based features. These include object recognition, smart tips and AI Accelerated Translator.
To recall, The Honor 8 Pro was launched in India in July last year and offers a 5.7-inch QHD display. The device is powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC with 6GB of RAM. At the back, the phone features a dual-camera setup with two 12MP cameras, while at the front, there is an 8MP camera. The phone offers 128GB of on board storage and is equipped with a 4000mAH battery.

The company’s current flagship smartphone is the Honor View 10, and which was launched in India late last year. The highlight of the phone is the Kirin 970 SoC that features a Neural Processing Engine (NPU) for handling AI related tasks. The device sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with an 18:9 display aspect ratio. It is equipped with a 3750mAh and offers 128GB of storage. At the back of the phone is a dual-camera setup with a 16MP+20MP combination, at the front is a 13MP camera.
