Honor 8 Pro gets Android Pie-based EMUI 9 stable update

The Honor 8 Pro launched back in 2017 to take on the OnePlus 5 which was OnePlus’ offering back in 2017. The smartphone is receiving the stable Android Pie-based EMUI 9 update. To check if you have received the update, you can open the Settings app on the smartphone. Tap on “About Phone” and then tap on “System Update”. You should see the update here. 

Smartphone users in India should be able to see the update. You may want to find a WIFI connection or ensure you have enough data as the update is a whopping 3.49GB in size. If you are one that enrolled in the Beta programme then the update is a mere 343MB.

The update brings with it a slew of new features such as AI object recognition, Huawei Share 3.0, a simplified UI and more. You can check the complete list of changes and improvements here

Speaking of the specifications of the Honor 8 Pro, the hybrid dual-SIM smartphone 5.7-inch LTPS IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone has the HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. The rear of the smartphone houses a 12MP dual-camera setup and the front has an 8MP shooter. The device has a USB-C port and a headphone jack. A 4000mAh battery powers the smartphone.
