Huawei is expected to launch the Honor 7X, successor to last year’s mid-range device Honor 6X, on October 11. We knew a lot about the device thanks to rumours and reports, however, the device was recently spotted on Geekbench by Slashleaks, which revealed a lot more on the specifications front.
The Honor 7X is seen running on the company’s own Kirin 659 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.71 Ghz and is paired with 4GB of RAM. The Geekbench listing shows a single-core score of 909 and multi-core score of 3159. It also shows the smartphone running on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Honor 7X is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display and run Emotion UI 5.1 atop Android Nougat. It is also expected to sport a 12MP dual rear camera setup. The smartphone is expected to be priced between 1,500 Yuan (Rs 15,000 approx) and 1,800 Yuan (Rs 18,000 approx) when it goes on sale.
Huawei is all set to launch its Mate 10 smartphone lineup on October 16. The company is expected to launch a total of four variants of the Mate 10 smartphone; Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Lite and an unknown smartphone codenamed “Marcel”.
Both the Huawei Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro are likely to sport the company’s latest Kirin 970 SoC. The main highlight of the SoC is its AI capabilities, which the company refers to as the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The AI facilitates for faster offline data processing and is supposed to enable the Mate 10 to achieve faster data transfer capabilities of up to 1.2Gbps and offer concurrent dual-SIM 4G support. The company also claims th better image processing capabilities due to the AI housed inside the chip. The SoC can process data and light signals much faster and in a much more intelligent manner.
