The Honor 7S smartphone was recently launched in India and it will be available for purchase via its first sale today. The entry-level handset offers an 18:9 display and comes equipped with a 3020mAh battery with smart battery management capabilities. The device goes up against the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 6A smartphone, which is priced around the same. It gets a single camera setup, which is a norm for devices in its price range and misses out on a fingerprint sensor but the company has compensated for it with the Face Unlock feature.
The Honor 7S is powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC, which is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, that can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. It features a 5.45-inch HD+ screen with an 18:9 display aspect ratio. During the launch, Honor said that the handset is designed for easier one hand operation. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and comes with additional features like app screen-split mode, tap to wake up and a blue light filter that enables Eye Protection Mode.
In terms of optics, the Honor 7S is equipped with a single 13MP rear sensor with PDAF support and LED flash. There is no secondary sensor on the rear but it can still capture Portrait shots. On the front is a 5MP sensor. The smartphone is backed by a 3,020mAh battery, which is said to deliver an entire day of usage.
The smartphone will be available at 12 PM today via Flipkart and the company’s own online shop. The Honor 7S comes in a 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variant, which is priced at Rs 6,999, and in Black, Blue and Gold colour options. In terms of launch offers, Flipkart is offering a Rs 1,000 minimum discount to those who opt for the exchange offer and there is also a no-cost EMI option to purchase the device starting at Rs 778 per month. Additionally, Jio users will get to avail Rs 2,200 cashback with the phone, along with 50GB additional data.
