Honor, Huawei's online-only brand, has announced the launch of its latest smartphone, the Honor 6X at CES 2017. The highlight of the Honor 6X is the use of dual-rear cameras – a feature that is gradually becoming a common trend among smartphone makers. The company already sells the Honor 6X in China, and has brought the device to the US today, with the India launch expected by the end of this month.
Starting with cameras, the Honor 6X features dual-rear cameras with one 12MP colour sensor and an additional 2MP sensor for capturing additional data like depth. Interestingly, the Honor 6X simultaneously focuses on more filters than before. It differs considerably from the Honor 8, and is also cheaper, at $249.99 (approximately Rs 17,000).
The Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the company's own octa-core Kirin 655 SoC. The smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. It houses a 3340mAh battery, and an 8MP front camera as well. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with Nougat upgrade in sight. The smartphone uses a microUSB port, and will be available in gray, gold and silver colour options.
