HMD Global has sent out a press invite for an event on October 31 in Gurugram, Haryana. Details of the event are not yet known, but it invites attendees to “unveil the next milestone for Nokia phones.” It is possible that the company may launch the brand new Nokia 7 smartphone in India.

To recall, HMD Global launched the Nokia 7 smartphone in China a few days ago. The device sports a 7000 series aluminium chassis and a glass back. It is equipped with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 chipset. It is available in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and the other with 6GB of RAM. Both variants offer 64GB of storage, which can be expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card.

At the back of the Nokia 7 is a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens, while at the front is a 5MP unit. Like the company’s flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8, the Nokia 7 also features a Bothie mode that lets the user take a picture using the front and back cameras simultaneously.

The phone runs Android Nougat and is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. The 4GB version of the Nokia 7 is priced at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 25,000), while the 6GB variant is priced at CNY 2,699 (approx Rs 27,000). It is not yet known if Nokia plans to launch both variants in India.

Nokia also recently launched a new variant of the Nokia 8 in Europe. Unlike the standard version, which offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the new variant offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In Germany, the new phone is priced at EUR 669 (approx Rs 51,000).
