Xiaomi has angered Chinese fans as it depicts Arunachal Pradesh as part of India.

Chinese netizens are furious after Xiaomi depicted Arunachal Pradesh as part of India during its recent Mi 4 launch presentation in New Delhi. China has so far claimed Arunachal Pradesh as part South Tibet, while Chinese maps don't feature the state as part of India.

Chinese netizens took to Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, to express anger over the incident. “Xiaomi, you need to get out of China,” said a Weibo user 145457.

Another user Virus said: “Xiaomi needs to respond to this and tell us why (this happened).”

Some Chinese netizens event went on to say they will not buy Xiaomi devices if the company does not tenders apology or a explanation.

“We can give them (India) Heilongjiang (in northeastern China) as long we keep making money,” said joo0706. “Capital and money have no country,” said another.

So far, Xiaomi hasn't commented on the controversy. Xiaomi, which is also called Apple of China, is now focussing on India. The company has reiterated that the Indian market is very important, and is exploring options to expand its base in India. It will be really interesting how Xiaomi handles the controversy.
