Here’s how to watch the launch of Lenovo Zuk Z1 Live
Lenovo is touting the launch of the Zuk Z1 as the ‘world’s first crowd sourced product launch’
Lenovo is launching the Zuk Z1 smartphone in India on May 10. The phone runs CyanogenMod 12 and the launch touted as being ‘world’s first crowd sourced product launch’. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB RAM. The phone comes with 13MP and 8MP cameras, and offers 64GB of non-expandable storage. The 4100mAh battery has a feature wherein the power is cut-off when it reaches 100% during charging. For example, when the phone is being charged overnight and reaches 100%, the power is cut off and the device runs on power from the charger and not the battery. This helps save the battery’s micro-cycles.
The Lenovo Zuk Z1 was launched in China in August last year and the company has already confirmed that the phone will run CyanogenMod 12 in India. This would not have been possible earlier due to the exclusive deal Cyanogen Inc had with Micromax. Even though the launch of the phone has been delayed by almost year, Lenovo’s Head of Product Marketing, Anuj Sharma explained that Cyanogen 12 OS is optimised for the Snapdragon 801 SoC. He says that this will still make it a competitive mid-range device.
