HIGHLIGHTS

This isn't the the first time we have seen an alleged OnePlus 5 image featuring a dual camera setup without antenna lines.

As the release date of the OnePlus 5 gets closer. more leaks of the phone have started to emerge. This weekend, an image of the phone’s back was leaked on weibo, re-iterating the rumour that the device will feature a dual-rear camera setup. The image suggests that the upcoming phone will have a vertical dual-camera setup at the back, with the dual LED module placed between the two cameras. The phone also looks a bit cleaner compared to the current generation OnePlus 3T as there are no visible antenna lines. The device in the newly leaked images looks comparatively similar to the one we saw last week.

Previously leaked images of the device have suggested that it might not have a headphone jack. However, OnePlus fans have since rejected the idea and even Carl Pei’s twitter poll seemed to point towards the same. The leaked images do give the impression that the phone will feature the same sand-blasted metal back as the current gen OnePlus. Although, what we don’t know yet is whether OnePlus will opt for QHD resolution and a taller display this year, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6. Although, rumours thus far suggest that the phone will have a 5.5-inch, 1080p display.

The phone is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is currently the SoC of choice for most OEMs when it comes to flagships. There are rumours that the OnePlus 5 will be available in two variants, one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage and higher variant offering 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. As for the cameras, it could be a dual 12MP unit with f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus technology. The cameras are likely to be good as OnePlus has already confirmed that it is partnering with DxO to improve the camera prowess of the OnePlus 5.
