Here are OnePlus 12’s confirmed camera specifications, look like a promising upgrade

We’ve been hearing about the OnePlus 12 for a while now. It is expected that this next OnePlus flagship will land in the first quarter of 2024 but it will release in China first. Even though there’s time before the OnePlus 12 will make it to the markets, rumours and leaks have caught our eyes. Now, at a camera-focused event, OnePlus has confirmed the specifications of the camera module on the OnePlus 12. Let’s find out.

OnePlus 12 camera specifications

First and foremost, we could see the same Hasselblad tuning in the OnePlus 12. To process images even better, this will be complemented with OPPO’s HDR and portrait-related technology. The camera module will hold a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 1/1.4″ primary camera. In addition to this, there will be a big 64MP 1/2.0″ periscope-telephoto lens with a focal length of 70mm, 3x optical zoom, f/2.6 aperture, and OIS.

According to OnePlus, the camera lens has been built using a new cutting-edge process which is proven to enhance the performance of the telephoto lens. It is not just a telephoto lens, it is a periscope-telephoto lens which means that its zoom limit could go beyond 3X. In addition to confirming the specifications of the camera module, OnePlus also shared some camera samples to give us an idea of what to expect.

OnePlus 12 expected specifications

Another teaser had previously confirmed that the OnePlus 12 would pack a 2K ProXDR display. Rumours suggest that this is going to be a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display by BOE accompanied by an OPPO P1 display chip. We would also find a punch-hole display on the front for the selfie camera.

The OnePlus 12 is rumoured to carry the newly launched flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with Adreno GPU. It could run on Android 14-based OxygenOS custom skin. Further, we could get a 24GB RAM and 1TB storage option.

Lastly, for batteries, we could get a 5,400mAh battery supported by 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
