HCL ME Android tablets to be launched later this week, starting from Rs. 14,990
According to various reports, it seems that HCL is getting ready to launch its range of Android tablets in India. Called the HCL ME Android tablets, the range will be available in two sizes and three models – the 7-inch HCL ME AE7-A1 and HCL ME AM7-A1, and the 10-inch HCL ME AP10-A1. Prices are expected to start from Rs. 14,990 for the base model, the HCL ME AE7.
The HCL ME Android tablets are expected to be announced later this week, and at their prices, are expected to undercut other Android tablet offerings in India, such as the 7-inch Dell Streak and Galaxy Tab, the MSI WindPad, the OlivePad, and of course, the Apple iPad. The tablets will apparently be launched first in Delhi & NCR, before being launched in other parts of the country within a fortnight.

Since there has been no official announcement, no news of a promised update to Honeycomb is known yet. HCL will supposedly be using a ‘local application store,’ and, is also planning on dealing with telecom service providers for bundled apps:
