The Google Phone is
finally unveiled and available to the public, and while it comes only shortly after the
release of Android 2.0, the Google Nexus One runs a even newer Android 2.1. Android 2.0 seems to have been lost in transition, seeing few devices featuring it before the release of version 2.1.
The new Android OS version brings nothing drastically new, over and above Android 2.0. It boasts some minor new features, such as the new animated “Live Wallpapers”, upgrades to WebKit (HTML5 support) etc.
As usual, the SDK includes an Android 2.1 system image and an emulator which will allow you to easily test the OS on your PC.
