The world’s largest smartphone market is about to be hit with a pool of choices in the foldable category. There are multiple foldable devices ready to release in India this year in the span of May to July under the biggest names in the tech industry. Google Pixel Fold, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Oppo Find N2 Flip are ready to put up a fight for consumers' attention.   

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 vs Oppo Find N2 Flip: Design

To start with the appearance of the devices, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is broader and taller with 154.9 mm x 67.1 mm x 13.4 mm dimensions and weighs approximately 254 grams. Whereas, Google Pixel Fold sports 139.7 mm x 79.5 mm x 12.1 mm dimensions with 283 grams weight. Lastly, the Oppo Find N2 Flip sizes up with 132.2 mm x 72.6 mm x 14.6 mm dimensions and weighs 233 grams. 

The rumours have suggested that the Google Pixel Fold will be available in a White variant and the recent teaser by Google flaunts a Black variant too. The Oppo Find N2 Flip is available in Cloud White, Black and Pine Green. However, there have been no reveals about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 vs Oppo Find N2 Flip: Display

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a dynamic AMOLED with 7.8-inch screen size, 1768×2208 pixels resolution and 363 ppi density. Whereas, the Google Pixel Fold includes an OLED display with 7.6-inch screen size, 1840×2208 pixels resolution and 378 ppi density. Oppo Find N2 Flip also features AMOLED with a 7.1-inch screen size and 1792 x 1920 pixels resolution with 370 ppi density. 

The Google Pixel Fold and Oppo Find N2 Fold both feature 120 Hz refresh rate with 1200 nits and 1550 nits brightness. Oppo Find N2 Flip provides HDR 10+ support. Details of the same for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 are not yet revealed.

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 vs Oppo Find N2 Flip: Performance (SoC)

All three devices operate on octa core CPUs with 64 bit architecture and 4 nm fabrication while processing 12GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Oppo Find N2 Flip runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Whereas, Google Pixel Fold uses its own Google Tensor G2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Oppo Find N2 Flip will operate Android 12 whereas Google Pixel Fold is set to provide its users with Android 13 for the foldable devices. Google Pixel Fold and Oppo Find N2 Flip are suggested to provide support for 5G bands unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

The devices provide a good battery capacity where Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 features 4700 mAh, Google Pixel Fold runs 4821 mAh and Oppo Find N2 Flip uses 4520 mAh. While Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Google Pixel Fold provide fast charging with 25W and 30W, respectively. Oppo Find N2 Flip sports Super VOOC, 67W charging that enables 37% of charge in 10 minutes. A great feature to enable in the foldable category. All the devices provide a 12GB RAM and 256GM memory variant.

The three devices flaunt a triple camera set-up with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 sporting 50 MP primary camera, 12 MP, ultra-wide angle camera and 10 MP telephoto camera. Google Pixel Fold features a set of 48 MP f/1.7, primary camera, 10 MP f/2.2, ultra-wide angle camera and 10 MP f/3.0, telephoto camera. Whereas, the Oppo Find N2 Flip has a powerful combination of 50 MP f/1.8 (84° field-of-view) primary camera, 48 MP f/2.2, ultra-wide angle camera and 32 MP f/2.0 telephoto camera. 

As for the front cameras, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a 12 MP primary camera, Google Pixel Fold flaunts a 10 MP f/2.2 primary camera and Oppo Find N2 Flip sports a

32 MP f/2.4, wide angle primary camera. The Find N2 also features dual LED flash.

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 vs Oppo Find N2 Flip: Price and Launch Date

Now that we have compared all the top features of the upcoming foldable contenders, let’s analyse the price they are asking for the features put out in the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is to be launched at Samsung’s developers’ conference which has been postponed. The tentative expected date of launch, as per the rumours floating around is July 12, 2023. The device is anticipated to be priced at ₹165,000/-. 

Google Pixel Fold is set to launch soon at Google’s developers’ conference Google I/O 2023. The date of the event has been released as May 10 and the launch of the Pixel Fold is expected on May 11 for Indian markets. The device is expected to be priced at ₹145,000. Additionally, Oppo Find N2 Flip is already selling on Flipkart at ₹94.890/-.
