Google Pixel, Pixel XL now available with cashback of Rs 13,000: Report

Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the first flagship smartphones from the search giant are now available with a cashback of Rs 13,000. According to Gadgets 360, Google is offering a cashback of Rs 13,000 on the purchase of its Pixel smartphones via offline retail channels. The cashback is reportedly applicable on cash or credit and debit card purchases and will be credited to buyer's account within 90 days of purchase.

The offer, ending May 31, will also be applicable on EMI purchases done using a valid credit card. The list of banks eligible under the cashback scheme are HDFC, Citibank, Axis Bank, ICICI, American Express, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL, Yes Bank, and UBI. Google is also putting out advertisements on certain mainstream newspapers highlighting the offer.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL were launched in India at Rs 57,000 and Rs 67,000 respectively for the 32GB variant of the phones. The 128GB models of Pixel and Pixel XL retail for Rs 66,000 and Rs 76,000 respectively. With the cashback offer, Google Pixel and Pixel XL will be available at a starting price of Rs 44,000 and Rs 54,000 respectively.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones were announced last year and features design and software integration done by Google itself, while assembling is taken care of by HTC. Google Pixel and Pixel XL feature metal and glass design and sport a 5-inch and 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 4. Both the handsets are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 platform and offer 4GB RAM.

The Pixel and Pixel XL feature a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus, electronic image stabilisation and dual-LED flash. The 1.55-micron pixel size of the sensor allows it to capture great detail even in low-light. The front camera is an 8MP one with f/2.4 aperture and support for 1080p video recording. The handsets run Android 7.1.2 Nougat and will be the first to get Android O update when it becomes available later this year. Google Pixel and Pixel XL sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and are backed by a 2770mAh and 3450mAh batteries respectively. The handsets are available in black, blue and silver colour options.
