Google Pixel 9a leaked images remind me of Nothing Phone (2a)
A leaked image that has surfaced online gives us a glimpse into what the Google Pixel 9a could look like.
It shows that Google might pick a different design language with Pixel 9a.
This closely resembles the rear panel look of the Nothing Phone (2a).
Google just unveiled its latest Pixel 9 series. It included four smartphones: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. People are still talking about these devices and it seems like Google has moved on and is prepping for the launch of the affordable variant of this lineup- Pixel 9a. Now, a leaked image that has surfaced online gives us a glimpse into what the Google Pixel 9a could look like, and let me tell you it’s looking like the Nothing Phone (2a) a lot.
The image was first spotted on a private Vietnamese Pixel fan Facebook group. It was later shared by tech insider ShrimpApplePro on X (formerly Twitter). The image shows that Google might pick a different design language with Pixel 9a. A sleek and more minimalist look can be inferred from these images, but it’s not completely new.

You might have noticed how Google has chosen a capsule-shaped camera island this time. For the Pixel 9a, Google might ditch that, if we go by the leaked image. In the image, we can see a flat rear panel. With this, Google is letting go of the traditional bar for cameras. The camera sensors will be placed inside a glossy ring this time. This closely resembles the rear panel look of the Nothing Phone (2a). A lot of people on the internet have been drawing these comparisons on the internet.
Further, we can see flat rails and a matte finish. The front display appears to feature uniform bezels and a centred punch-hole camera. The SIM tray will be placed at the bottom. It does retain these from the higher-end Pixel 9 smartphones.
But there’s still some time before Google decides to drop the Pixel 9a. We have no official confirmation about this from the company either. Until then, we should take this news with a pinch of salt.
