It is that time of the year when big smartphone drops are expected left, right, and centre. Out of all the smartphones that are anticipated, we are going to talk about the Google Pixel 9 series in particular. Although, if we look at Google’s history and release timelines, there is still some time before the new Pixel series is announced. We can expect it by fall. However, before the drop, rumours and leaks started to surface, as always. Let’s take a look at what we find out this time.
Firstly, it is expected that the upcoming Pixel 9 series can include three smartphones: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. This time, in particular, we have come across the Geekbench scores of the upcoming Pixel 9 series. These benchmark scores minutely reveal what we can expect from the performance of the upcoming Pixel 9 series. We have come across the benchmarks of Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

According to the leaked scores, Pixel 9 Pro XL achieved a single-core score of 1378 and a multi-core score of 3723. On the other hand, the Pixel 9 shows a higher single-core score of 1653 but a lower multi-core score of 3313. We might get to see the new Tensor G4 processor on these smartphones.
Now, according to rumours, The Pixel 9 Pro XL might have a configuration of one 3.10GHz primary core, three 2.6GHz performance cores, four 1.95GHz efficiency cores, and 16GB of RAM. The Pixel 9, on the other hand, might have a similar CPU setup but with 8GB of RAM.
Even though these scores should not be taken very seriously, from the first look, they are somewhat underwhelming, to say the least. If we compare it with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the results aren’t matching up. Plus there isn’t even a significant improvement from the Tensor G3 chip used in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. But again, we shall wait and see what Google has to offer.
