Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Fold confirmed to launch in India, standard Pixel 9 models might miss out
HIGHLIGHTS

A new Flipkart microsite has confirmed the launch of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to be powered by the Tensor G4 processor.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumored to feature a 6.4-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display.

Google is launching the Pixel 9 series this week on August 13 globally and on August 14 in India. The Pixel maker is expected to launch four Pixel smartphones this time, but only two of them might come to India. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold with this new smartphone lineup. However, ahead of the launch, a new Flipkart microsite has confirmed the launch of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in India on August 14.

It will be strange if Google launches the pricier Pixel 9 phones instead of standard Pixel 9 phones in India. If we look at India’s smartphone market, budget phones are a success, meaning the cheaper the phone, the more chance it has in the Indian market. But again, it’s more likely that Google roll out other Pixel phones in India as well.

About the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the brand hasn’t revealed much but leaks and rumours have revealed a lot. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to be powered by the Tensor G4 processor, which could be paired with up to 16GB RAM. Moreover, it is expected to pack a 4942mAh battery.

Coming to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, it could be the slimmest foldable smartphone in the Indian market, even slimmer than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. It is rumored to feature a 6.4-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display. For photography, it is expected to feature a triple camera setup, holding a 48-megapixel primary, 10.5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and 10.8-megapixel telephoto shooter. For selfies and video calls, there can be a 10-megapixel shooter on the front.
