August is here and the excitement among Android fans is on the top. This is because Google is launching its next Pixel lineup globally on August 13. What’s even more exciting is that this new Pixel series won’t just include two smartphones like it usually does, but this time there will be four smartphones if reports are to be believed. Every year, before Google launches new smartphones, we already know pretty much about them through leaks and rumours. This year as well, we have learned a lot about the upcoming Pixel 9 series which is said to include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. And the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is coming to India this time, as confirmed by the brand.
In the latest development, we have come across a new leak that reveals the thickness and weight of the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro Fold. According to the leak, the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the slimmest foldable ever, even slimmer than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
According to Android Headlines, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will measure 10.5mm thick when folded and 5.1mm when unfolded. For more context, Vivo promoted the X Fold 3 Pro as the “World’s slimmest foldable phone” and it is 5.2mm thick. But this doesn’t come as a surprise as the Google Pixel Fold was also marked as the slimmest foldable in the US.
Unfortunately, apart from being the slimmest phone, this could be the heaviest one as well and this is not a really good combo. Reports on the internet are claiming that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be 257 grams heavy. For more context, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is 236 grams heavy and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams.
However, you should also take this with a pinch of salt as these details are just leaks and rumours. But on the other hand, we know Google Pixel leaks are mostly true. So, let’s see how it is going to be on August 13.
