The Google Pixel 9 Pro has taken the internet by storm. No no, don’t get too excited it hasn’t dropped in the market yet. But its renders and leaks have surfaced online. There’s a lot of time before the Google Pixel 9 comes out as Google usually launches the Pixel smartphones during the second half of the year. But I am not here to talk about that, amidst all this, Google has revealed new features for the Google Pixel 8 series. Let’s take a look at it.

Google Pixel 8 series new features

Google has initiated its January 2024 feature drop that includes several new features. The first feature that we will discuss is “Circle to Search”. You might have heard about this feature as it’s trending for its inclusion on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Now,

Google has introduced the feature for the Pixel 8 series users too. To use this feature, simply tap and hold the home button, circle on what you wish to search, and learn more about it.

Magic Compose

Well well well, Google did not step back by including AI-based features in this drop. It has introduced a ‘Magic Compose’ in Messages which is available for both the Pixel 8 smartphones. With this, you can “rewrite a drafted message in different styles. Make sound more professional, concise, or even Shakespearean.”

Photomoji

Next is Photomoji, which allows you to select a photo and convert it into a sticker or emoji to be shared on Google Messages. In addition to that, this feature is also available for any Pixel phone from the Google Pixel 3a and newer.

Temperature sensor

This one’s quite exciting. You can now take your body temperature on your Pixel 8 Pro’s temperature sensor. All you have to do is use the thermometer app, which will do a quick body scan and the results can be stored on the Fitbit app.

Apart from the features, Google has also unveiled a Mint variant for both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. It will be available for purchase from January 25. It seems like all smartphone companies have decided to go pastel with their colour choices.
