Smartphone or digital thermometer? Google Pixel 8 Pro will be both!

At Google I/O 2023, the search engine giant announced a variety of hardware launches namely; Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a along with Android 14. And we are already having rumours floating around about the flagship Pixel series Google Pixel 8 and Pixel Pro designs and specifications – do remember that these are nothing but speculated designs, and they as such have no confirmation and need to be taken with a grain of salt.   

Google Pixel 8 series: Design

The leaks have been shared by tipster Kuba Wojciechowski to 91mobiles. To start with the anticipated design of the camera, similar to the Pixel 7 Pro, the smartphone is expected to have a punch hole front camera with the back camera structure holding a triple camera setup.

In addition, the metal framing of the device is also adapted from Pixel 7 Pro. The pill-shaped frame will hold all the three sensors in this design unlike the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel 8 Pro: Thermometer Sensor

The major highlight of the new Pixel 8 Pro model is supposed to be the latest sensor addition to the smartphone, which elevates the device’s capabilities with the newly added body temperature measuring feature. 

The sensor works in the same manner that as any other contactless thermometer wherein you locate the sensor and select measure on the screen and hold the phone close to your temple or forehead for about 5 seconds. The cell phone will vibrate and your body temperature will be suggested on the screen. 

You can use the sensor to detect the temperature for objects as well, the feature is currently being explored by Googlers. The sensor can be located near the LED flash on the rear end. The data of the temperature will be stored and managed through the Android Private Compute Core.

Google Pixel 8: Launch and Specs

The Pixel 8 series by ritual is anticipated to launch in October similar to the announcement of Google Pixel 7. 

As for the features of Pixel 8 Pro, there have been various leaks suggesting a few anticipated features for the device. However, the information is just speculation and cannot be taken word by word.

The device will be powered by Google’s own processor, expected to be Tensor G3 under the codename Zuma.The Pixel 8 Pro may flaunt a 6.52 inches display with Samsung’s 50MP ISOCELL GN2 camera sensor – Samsung’s biggest camera sensor which will ensure better photos and higher resolution.
