The Pixel 8 series has finally arrived with a lot of cool features and not-so-cool prices. Sadly, Google has announced the Pixel 7 at a starting price of ₹75,999 and the Pixel 8 Pro at a price of ₹1,06,999. Last year, the company launched the Pixel 7 at a starting price of ₹59,999. The brand does offer some really good upgrades with the Pixel 8 series but they don’t justify the price hike at all.
I am comparing the Google Pixel 8 with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra that was launched in February. Both are top-notch Android smartphones available in the market. Let’s see how it goes.

The Google Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. This display has 2000nits of peak brightness and it is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 boasts a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It has 1750nits of peak brightness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Google offers the latest Tensor G3 chipset with the Pixel 8. The processor comes paired with 8GB RAM and the Titan M2 Security Chip. Additionally, Google also announced the latest Android 14 OS with the Pixel 8 series.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 runs on OneUI 5.1 skin based on Android 13 OS. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor coupled with 8GB RAM.

There is a dual camera setup in the Pixel 8, carrying a 50-megapixel main camera with PDAF, Laser AF, OIS support, and a 12-megapixel Ultrawide lens. For selfies, it features a 10.5-megapixel front camera.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S23 features a triple camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera with PDAF and OIS support, a 10-megapixel Telephoto sensor with up to 3x Optical lens, and a 12-megapixel Ultrawide lens. On the front, it sports a 12-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Google Pixel 8 is packed with a 4575mAh battery with 27-watt fast charging and 18-watt wireless charging support.
However, the Samsung Galaxy S23 has a 3900mAh battery that supports 25-watt fast charging and 15-watt wireless charging.
The Google Pixel 8 will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting from October 12. Apart from that, the company will also be running a ₹8000 discount on select banks. So, if the smartphone is priced at ₹75,999, you can purchase it for ₹67,999.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 is currently available on Amazon at a price of ₹79,999. Amazon is also offering a ₹5000 instant discount on the smartphone, which you can avail through using the SBI Credit Card.
