The leaks surrounding Google’s upcoming Pixel devices don't seem to be getting the same level of traction as its competitors, Apple and Samsung, have. While we have already seen a lot of leaked images of the premium phones that the search giant may launch this year, a latest listing on Geekhbench has shown what hardware the larger Pixel device might come with.
The listing suggests that the Google Pixel 3 XL has scored a single-core score of 2426 and a multi-core score of 8355. Judging by the scores, it seems like Google will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with a base frequency of 1.77 GHz in the device. However, the scores are a little on the lower side when compared with competing Snapdragon 845 devices. There is a possibility that these numbers could represent the initial samples and Google may tweak the internals to deliver a better performance. The listing also suggests that the Pixel 3 XL will come with 4GB RAM and run on Android P 9.0.
Recently, XDA Developers spotted a hands-on image of the alleged ‘Clearly White’ variant of the Pixel 3 XL on the wild. According to the image, Google will retain the single primary camera unit on the device and its signature two-tone back is gone. The report claims that the back of ‘Clearly White’ Pixel 3 XL is made of glass and there will be a fingerprint sensor placed centrally at the back. If the image is to be believed, the Pixel 3 XL (codenamed ‘crosshatch’) will feature a notch. The claim seems to make sense because Google has added the support for the notch in Android P. Moreover, the phone is seen with noticeable bezels on the sides and a thick chin.
On the front, we may see a dual-camera setup for selfies. The notch also suggest that Google may do away with the dual-speakers it introduced in Pixel 2 XL and only house a single speaker in the chin. Recent rumours also state that Google is working on a wireless-charging dock for the upcoming Pixel 3 series of devices. That should explain Google’s decision to go for a glass rear panel.
