Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL users report phone getting warmer with shortened battery life
Some Pixel 2 owners are reporting the phones running warmer and battery life reduced after the February security patch.
The Pixel 2 phones have been quite problematic for both users and Google itself, what with an inferior display, screen burn-in, sound issues and some more. Now, users are reporting that the Pixel 2 is getting warm lately and the battery running out quicker than it should, after an update.
Pointed out first by 9to5Google, Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL users have taken to Reddit to complain about the issue. The problems seems to have appeared after the February security update. In fact, 9to5Google’s Ben Schoon also reported that his Pixel 2 XL was becoming warm while in standby mode and the battery life is now reduced.
Some users are reporting both issues are affecting the phones, while some have experienced either of them. The battery drain is apparently inconsistent with phone usage, however, all the complaints are being attributed to the February security patch. The exact cause of the issues are yet unclear.
