Google has officially announced that their flagship smartphones, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are now available at lower effective prices. The 64GB variant of the Pixel 2 will now be available at Rs 42,000 against its launch price of Rs 61,000 and the 128GB storage model can be purchased at a price of Rs 51,000 against its original price of 70,000. Similarly, the 64GB and 128GB variants of the larger Pixel 2 XL will be up for sale priced at Rs 57,000 (MRP 73,000) and Rs 66,000 (MRP 82,000) respectively. Google says that the smartphones are being offered at lower prices owing to the "active offers during this buying season." However, to get the smartphones at their respective lower effective prices, customers need to buy them using the EMI scheme on HDFC bank credit cards.

In terms of specifications, the Google Pixel 2 sports a 5-inch FHD AMOLED display with 16:9 aspect ratio, whereas the larger Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch pOLED QHD display with a 2880 x 1440p resolution and a taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The Pixel 2 XL sports thinner bezels in comparison to the Pixel 2 and both the devices come with a rear placed fingerprint scanner.

Both the smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM. As mentioned above, the devices are available in 64GB/128GB internal storage options. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones feature a single 12MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilisation, dual-pixel autofocus, dual-LED flash and come with an 8MP front-facing camera. Even though Google didn't add dual sensors at the back, the smartphones are able to capture images on in portrait mode.

Google recently rolled out its first ARCore app called AR Stickers for the first generation Pixel and Pixel 2 phones. Using the app, users can place 3D virtual reality characters in the camera’s feed. Characters from Star Wars and Stranger Things can also be added while recording. You can know more about it here.
