Google has sent press invites for an event being held in India on October 13. It is expected that the company will launch the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P in India on the same day. Google had already unveiled the two devices globally, during its September 29 event.
It was earlier reported that Google was planning to launch the two devices between October 10 and October 14. The reason behind this move was to release the devices before Apple launches the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India. Apple is scheduled to launch its new devices in the country on October 16. Prices of the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P were listed on the Google Store in India. The price of the 5X is expected to start at Rs. 31,900, while the price of the Nexus 6P is expected to start at Rs. 39,990.
The Nexus 5X is manufactured by LG, and comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC and 2GB of RAM. The device comes with a 12.3MP primary camera while at the front is a 5MP camera. The Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch WQHD display with a 3450mAh battery. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC and 3GB of RAM. The 6P also comes with a 12.3MP camera but at the front is an 8MP camera. Both devices comes with Android Marshmallow v6.0 as well as fingerprint sensors dubbed as Nexus Imprint, and USB Type-C ports.
During Google’s launch event on September 29, they also announced the Google Pixel C tablet, Chromecast 2, and Chromecast Audio. However, it is not known if these devices will be launched alongside the two Nexus devices in India. The Pixel C tablet has an aluminum shell with a 10.2-inch display of 2560×1800 pixels resolution, and USB Type-C port. The device is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra X1 quad-core SoC and 3GB of RAM. It also has a Bluetooth keyboard with self-aligning magnets to attach it with the tablet.
