Glass, plastic, and now wood back panels! OnePlus 12 tipped to feature one

The back panel of the OnePlus 12 has been leaked and it looks like 'Wood'.

Previously, OnePlus rolled out a 'Bamboo Case' for the OnePlus One.

The OnePlus 12 could launch globally in January.

OnePlus seems to surprise everyone with its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. A new leak has been surfacing on the internet, which reveals a very interesting design detail of the OnePlus 12. This comes from a popular tipster known as Digital Chat Station. The tipster hints at the back panel of the OnePlus 12, which looks like ‘Wood’. Now we are not sure whether it is actual wood or wood-like texture on a plastic or glass back.

Now questions arise, will this be a wooden back? or will this be a wooden case? or maybe neither of them but just a plastic case with a wooden texture?

OnePlus One with its Bamboo case

No wonder, OnePlus could roll out something like this because the brand has done it before. For its first smartphone, the OnePlus One, the brand rolled out a ‘Bamboo Case’. This was crafted from actual Bamboo. However, it is not something unbelievable since we have seen so much in this industry.

Speaking of the OnePlus 12’s launch date, a leak suggested that the OnePlus 12 could launch globally in January. Furthermore, the Chinese brand has confirmed that the smartphone will feature an OLED display that is going to have 2600 nits of peak brightness and a 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

It is also expected to see some upgrades in the camera section as well. This year, there might be a 64-megapixel Periscope Telephoto sensor. This might be paired with a 50-megapixel OIS main camera and a 48-megapixel Ultrawide lens.

Next, the smartphone will most likely be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 24GB RAM. It is also rumoured to be backed by a 5400mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging support and 50-watt wireless fast charging support.
