Gionee is sending out teasers of its upcoming smartphone called M5 which reportedly has two batteries inside and will provide users up to 4 days of battery life according to the company.
The Gionee M5 is the successor to the Marathon M3 that Gionee launched earlier this year. The Marathon M3 and the M2 packed massive 5,000mAh and 4,200mAh batteries. With the M5 Gionee is taking the battery to a whole different level. An official teaser by the company hints at a dual battery inside the upcoming M5 handset. The rumors suggest that each battery will be larger than 2,500mAh capacity. However, no other specifications of the device have been revealed yet.
Reportedly the M5 will be able to work with only one of the batteries, while the other is being charged. With both the batteries charged, Gionee promises a four-day battery life out of the M5. The images released of the device are head on so its difficult to get a sense of the device's thickness. More details of the upcoming M5 are expected to surface in the next couple of weeks before its announcement.
Recently the Innos D6000 smartphone with two batteries totaling 6000 mAH capacity was also announced. Other specifications of the device include a 5.2″ 1080p JDI (Japan Display), Snapdragon 615 octa-core 1.8 GHz processor with 3GB of RAM ad 32GB of built memory. The smartphone will be launched in China in June.
Gionee is also gearing up to launch its Elife E8 smartphone the successor of Elife E7 launched in 2013. The smartphone boasts of a 23 MP rear camera that can capture 100 MP images. The camera can take multiple shots and combines them into a single 100 MP image, similar to the Oppo Find 7. The Gionee Elife E8 has a 4.6-inch display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 32 GB internal memory and will be backed by a 3520 mAh battery. The handset is expected to come with an integrated fingerprint scanner for additional security and will run Android 5.0 out-of-the-box. The Gionee Elife E8 has been listed on TENNA and is expected to be launched in the next few weeks.
